Juan Estevez

After initiating his harpsichord studies with
Rafael Puyana in Bogotá, his native city, Juan Estevez
attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London
on a British Council grant. Courses with Kenneth Gilbert
at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy (1984 & 85).
He obtained a Master's degree in Music from Boston University
(1991) as a Fulbright fellow.
He has extensively performed as a solo artist
and in ensembles in Austria, Spain, France, England, Switzerland,
Germany, Colombia and Brazil. He founded Musica Barocca
in the 90's and currently lives in London. In the commentary
after his recital in Baden, Switzerland, the critic of the
Badener Tagblatt praised his exceptional capacity to communicate
with the audience a rare quality in a harpsichordist
as well as his familiarity with the music aesthetics of
the Baroque period.
According to an article published in L'Indépendent
in August 96 in Carcassone, France: ...last night
at Greffeil's church, Juan Estevez played the harpsichord
in a chamber music concert... the precision of his playing
and sensitivity contributed to give the ensemble its homogeneity.

Lisete da
Silva

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, where she received
her formative musical education. In 1993 she entered the
Royal Academy of Music, London, to study recorder under
Peter Holtslag and Anneke Boeke and Baroque flute with Lisa
Beznosiuk. Lisete furthered her Baroque flute skills with
Rachel Brown. Her rich career as a soloist, teacher and
ensemble player has taken her throughout Europe, South America
and the UK.

Maria Martinez
Recorders |
Born in Colombia, she graduated with honours
as a recorder player and oboist from Manhattanville College,
New York. From 1989 she continued her recorder studies with
the Dutch player Anneke Boeke at the Guildhall School in
London. Maria has made frequent appearances in Colombia,
Europe and the USA.

Mauricio
Buraglia
Theorbo |
Born in Colombia, he has lived in Paris for
more than 20 years.His lute
teachers have included Paul O'Dette, Konrad Junghänel
and Hopkinson Smith. His improvisation skills keep him in
great demand as a continuo player. He has appeared on more
than 30 recordings with Audivis, Virgin, Vérany and
other labels.

He began his musical education at Chetham's
School of Music. In 1996 he graduated from the Royal Northern
College of Music and then went on to specialize in early
music as a postgraduate student at the Royal College of
Music, London, where he was a pupil of Anthony Pleeth and
Anna Shuttleworth. Nicholas has performed and broadcast
extensively throughout the UK and abroad in many of the
leading period instrument ensembles.
